Kate and Dan’s wedding was one of those days where everything just came together. From the venue to the weather, it all clicked, and it made my job as a photographer easy. What struck me most about Kate and Dan, though, wasn’t just the beautiful setting—it was their authenticity. They’re the kind of couple who are both down-to-earth and adventurous, and that energy set the tone for the entire day.

Kate and Dan met through their shared love of skiing and snowboarding in Colorado. They both had the same adventurous spirit, and their connection was almost immediate. After reconnecting at a New Year’s Eve party, they ended up sharing their first kiss at midnight, and it was clear from then on that they were meant to be together. This wedding was the culmination of that bond, and you could feel the excitement and joy in the air as they finally tied the knot.

Their venue, Mount Vernon Canyon Club, was a great spot. It’s located just far enough from Denver to feel like you’re in the mountains, but still close enough for their east coast guests to make the trip without too much trouble. For a couple who had always dreamed of a mountain wedding, this place was a solid choice. The location provided the perfect backdrop with sweeping mountain views, and on top of that, the weather was ideal. After a week of snowstorms, we got a full blue sky day, which felt like a bit of luck.

The sun was out, and with all the snow on the ground, the light was soft and clear, which made for some really great photo opportunities for the couple's portraits. Kate’s gown was sparkly, classic and elegant, and Dan looked sharp in his sage green suit. Their florals were classic with a touch of wild-flower, with just the right amount of greenery and a touch of blue to tie everything together. The color scheme was clean and modern, and the whole look fit perfectly with the mountain setting and time of year.

One of my favorite parts of the day was the time we spent doing their portraits. Many couples do not put enough time in their timeline and Kate and Dan let us have a whole hour to do couple portraits so we really got to play around and have fun capturing this stunning couple.

What stood out to me throughout the day was how much Kate and Dan focused on their guests. They made sure the timeline was organized and that everyone felt included. It wasn’t just about them getting married; it was about creating a good experience for the people they cared about.

Overall, this wedding was a great reflection of who Kate and Dan are as a couple. They’re kind, easygoing, and their love for each other is clear. The location, the weather, and the design all worked together, but it was the couple’s personality and their approach to the day that really made it memorable. I’m grateful to have been part of it and to have had the chance to capture some of those moments.
