Set at the base of the Gore Range, Vail Golf & Nordic Center feels expansive in the best way. Open fairways, wildflower edges, and unobstructed mountain views create a setting that’s both relaxed and undeniably Colorado.
Alex & Sarah chose to host their wedding ceremony on Wedding Island, a quiet pocket of green surrounded by mountain peaks and summer color. It’s one of those places that doesn’t need much. The landscape carries the moment.
I’ve photographed this venue in every kind of weather and light, and it always delivers. In the summer, it feels vibrant and alive. In the fall, golden and crisp. The space works because it’s simple, open, and flexible. It gives couples room to create something personal without competing with the scenery.
Their day felt classic but full of energy. A stunning bride and groom, a packed dance floor, and a live band that kept guests out long after sunset. Mountain weddings can feel extremely formal or overly rustic. This one struck the balance perfectly. Elevated, colorful, and fun.

Why Vail Golf & Nordic Center is One of Vail's Best Wedding Venues
This Vail Golf and Nordic Center isn’t just scenic, it’s functional. For couples planning a mountain wedding with convenience built in, it checks every box.
Location & Views
Located just minutes from Vail Village, the venue offers panoramic Gore Range views without requiring guests to take gondolas or travel far out of town. It feels tucked away while still being accessible.
Wedding Island Ceremony Site
The ceremony lawn, often referred to as Wedding Island, sits slightly removed from the clubhouse and reception space. Surrounded by water and mountain peaks, it feels private and intentional.
Reception Tent & Lawn
The adjacent lawn allow for larger guest counts while keeping everything in one place - cocktail hour and the reception space. It’s ideal for 100–200 guests and transitions smoothly from cocktail hour to dinner to dancing.
Logistics That Work
On-site parking (rare in Vail), getting-ready space, and a layout that flows naturally make the day feel seamless. No bussing required (unless you are going to wedding island, then you need transportation). No complicated flips. Just movement that makes sense.

Ceremony and Reception Spaces at Vail Golf & Nordic Center
The Ceremony Lawn (Wedding Island)
Mountain views in every direction. You can keep décor minimal and let the Gore Range do the work, or you can have local floral vendors create gorgeous floral arrangements to enhance the space. Florals add color without overpowering the setting.
Cocktail Hour on the Lawn
Guests spill out onto the grass with drinks in hand, soaking in the light and views. It’s relaxed and social, and there’s plenty of space for mingling.
The Reception Space
The reception space allows for classic styling. Chandeliers, draping, colorful florals, or clean white tablescapes all work beautifully here. You even get a peak out at the Gore Range.
Sunset Portraits on the Course
Golden hour at this venue is worth planning around. The light drops behind the Gore Range and creates the softest glow across the fairways. It’s one of my favorite spots in Vail for portraits that feel expansive and iconic.

How to Book Vail Golf & Nordic Center for your wedding
The venue books quickly for peak summer and early fall dates. Reaching out 12–18 months in advance is ideal, especially for Saturdays. Pricing varies depending on season, guest count, and food & beverage selections. Most couples can expect venue rental to include access to Wedding Island, tables and chairs, on-site coordination, and parking. Catering is typically handled in-house, with bar packages available as add-ons. For exact availability and current pricing, contact the events team at Vail Golf & Nordic Center directly.
